Sending Personal Belongings and Gifts to Spain

Sending personal belongings to yourself in Spain — or receiving a gift from friends or family outside the EU — is not always as straightforward as it seems.

Even if the items are already yours, or are being sent as a gift, they still need the correct customs documentation when entering Spain.

Depending on the value, type and origin of the goods, the recipient may have to pay Spanish import VAT, any applicable duties and a customs administration fee charged by the courier or clearing agent.

Before the parcel is sent

We can advise on the best courier to use, depending on where the parcel is coming from, and explain what customs information will be required.

Our advice fee is €10 per shipment.

The shipment itself must be created by the client, although in some cases our shipping agent may be able to create the label for an additional fee.

If you would like us to help prepare the customs documentation required for the goods to leave the country of origin, our fee is €25 per shipment.

When the parcel arrives in Spain

We can also assist with customs clearance once the goods reach Spain.

Our fee for a simple personal, non-commercial customs clearance is €25 per shipment.

Commercial and more complex imports are quoted separately depending on the value, volume and requirements of the shipment.
